Inside is a guy amongst the Marauders named Charles From Accounting, with a big bubble helmet on, so he's hard to miss. In the southeastern corner of Gorgon is a Marauder Stronghold that you can travel to as soon as you start the DLC, if you want. The first one to be aware of is " Special P.E.T Benefits" which is for collecting all science weapons in the DLC. As a side note here: if you load your point of no return save where you're at Hope, you will need to travel away to any other planet, such as Terra, and then you will be contacted to start the DLC.Īs noted in the Overview, there are multiple missable achievements, which I will discuss here. To start this DLC, when you interact with the navigation panel inside your ship to travel to a planet, you'll be contacted about a parcel being delivered to you. The first story DLC for The Outer Worlds sees you traveling to Gorgon to help a client investigate the happenings on a seemingly deserted planet.

If you missed any combat-related achievements (cumulative ones track over multiple playthroughs), you can finish them up on a new game in Story mode (or reload a save from your first playthrough and lower the difficulty if all you need is combat-related stuff). You should only have one thing to worry about during this playthrough, which is the one side-quest related achievement we didn't get in the first playthrough.įor a speedrun walkthrough of this playthrough, see here.

See " Supernova" below for a full list of changes and tips. You'll want to take your time before and during combat even more than you did on Hard difficulty, as encounters will be much trickier, especially with companions now susceptible to perma-death. In essence, it's Hardcore mode from Fallout: New Vegas but worse. Supernova difficulty uses the default Hard settings, while adding a litany of annoying features like limited save functionality and survival requirements. It will make a lot of the combat-related achievements easier, and you can bump the difficulty up to Hard for the two that require you to hit the enemies with multiple things before death. Note: Supernova stacks with the Hard difficulty, so if you want to do this playthrough on the easiest setting, feel free. For your second run, you should really only need one of the two achievements I mentioned above, and the one for beating the game on Supernova difficulty. You could even turn the difficulty down to Story at that point to make everything a breeze. I'd actually suggest just saving prior to the point of no return and reloading that to get everything done prior to your Supernova run. It isn't meant to be a full walkthrough of the entire game, just a guidepost to keep you on track for the achievements (and many things can be done in a different order). Use this mini-walkthrough for a brief rundown of things to accomplish in each location before moving to the next.

During this playthrough you'll want to recruit all of the companions, do their quests, collect all the science weapons, hit Level 30, and pay at least minor attention to all the miscellaneous combat-related achievements. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.īecause " Mightier than the Sword"/" Ludwig Was Right" require so much setup (the first choice is an hour or two into the game), you will need a minimum of two playthroughs to complete this game, with this playthrough getting you prepared for Supernova.
